Abstract
The need for a simple and robust information system that can provide valuable assistance to decision-makers in the decision-making process is now an obligation in all fields, especially in higher education, which suffers from a lack of such platforms. In this work, we have proposed a solution that will manage enrollment forecasting models in higher education institutions. The capabilities of forecasting models cannot be fully exploited without a platform that facilitates and optimizes access and management of forecasting tasks. We used the MVC model to develop and propose an architecture capable of producing a forecasting platform adapted to the context of higher education. The proposed solution, named StraDForcst (Strategic Decision Forecast), is a platform developed using the most popular and suitable technologies in our context. We used the Flask framework, considered one of the most widely used Python frameworks.We utilized multiple data sources, including an Oracle 11g database for constructing our time series and several other MySQL databases for model backup and restoration.We applied and used this platform for a university in Morocco, and it yielded promising results.
